Biometric Data Consent
Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) — 740 ILCS 14 Effective Date: April 16, 2026
Before you upload your headshot, CastMyType is required by law to inform you of the following and obtain your written consent. Please read carefully.
What We Collect
When you upload a headshot photograph, our AI systems analyze the image to identify photographic properties including:
- •Perceived age range
- •Hair color, length, and style
- •Skin tone and coloring
- •Facial structure characteristics used to determine typecasting attributes (such as "leading man," "character actor," "girl next door," etc.)
This analysis may constitute the collection of biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA, 740 ILCS 14) and similar laws in other jurisdictions.
Purpose
Your biometric data is used solely to generate casting type tags and attributes displayed on your CastMyType profile. These tags help casting professionals find you for roles that match your type.
Your biometric data is never used for identity verification, surveillance, or any purpose other than generating your casting type profile.
Who Processes Your Data
Your headshot is transmitted to and processed by OpenAI via their API. OpenAI does not use API-submitted data to train its models. No other third parties receive your biometric data. CastMyType staff do not manually review your headshot for biometric analysis.
Data Retention and Destruction

Upon account deletion, all biometric analysis data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
No Sale of Biometric Data
CastMyType will never sell, lease, trade, profit from, or otherwise disclose your biometric data to any third party, except to OpenAI solely for generating your type analysis.
Your Rights
- •Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your CastMyType account
- •Request a copy of the biometric data we hold about you
- •Request deletion of your biometric data before account closure
