CastMyType ("we," "our," or "us") operates castmytype.com, an AI-powered casting intelligence platform connecting actors and casting professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information.
By using CastMyType, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- •Account information: Name, email address, and password
- •Profile information: Headshots, physical attributes, performance credits, skills, training history, and representation details
- •Resume and credits: Uploaded PDF resumes and manually entered credits
- •Union affiliation: SAG-AFTRA, Equity, or non-union status
- •Biography and self-description: Written bio and casting notes you provide
2.2 Biometric and Facial Data
When you upload a headshot, our AI systems analyze the photograph to identify photographic properties including perceived age range, coloring, hair characteristics, and typecasting attributes. This analysis may constitute the processing of biometric identifiers or biometric information under applicable law, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
We obtain your explicit written consent before performing any such analysis. See Section 5 for our full biometric data policy.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information

2.4 Information From Third Parties
We do not import data from third-party platforms. IMDB profile links are display-only and self-provided by users.
3. How We Use Your Information
- •To provide the platform: Display your profile to casting professionals searching for talent
- •AI-powered matching: Generate type tags, vibe analysis, and casting suggestions based on your headshot and profile
- •Communications: Send account-related emails including password resets and platform updates
- •Safety and security: Detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- •Legal compliance: Meet our obligations under applicable law
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
- •Casting professionals: Your published profile is visible to verified casting professionals on the platform
- •OpenAI: Headshot images and resume text are processed by OpenAI via their API. OpenAI does not use API-submitted data to train its models
- •Cloudflare R2: Headshots and uploaded files are stored on Cloudflare R2 in the United States
- •Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or court order
5. Biometric Data Policy
In accordance with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14):
- •Informed consent: We obtain explicit written consent before any biometric analysis. You may withdraw at any time by deleting your account
- •Purpose limitation: Biometric data is used solely to generate casting type tags on your profile
- •No sale: We will never sell, lease, trade, or profit from your biometric data
- •Retention: Biometric analysis data is retained for the life of your active account, or 3 years from your last interaction — whichever comes first
- •Destruction: Upon account deletion, biometric analysis data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- •Third-party processing: We share headshot data only with OpenAI, under terms that prohibit use for model training

CastMyType is not directed to individuals under 18. Contact privacy@castmytype.com if you believe a minor has created an account.

We use industry-standard security including HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls. No internet transmission is 100% secure.

We will notify users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
